Living Life as a Pastor's Wife
Saturday, March 19, 2011
Hi again
Okay so I took a two year break. Funny I have thought about this blog a few times over the last few months, wondering if it was even still "alive". And it is...maybe my abscence says something about life as a pastor's wife-lol! I enjoyed reading the posts I made two years ago. Wow! How many changes we have had in the last two years. Of course, the kids have grown and I hope me and Louis have too. It is good to look back, to reflect on the past, to see God's hand in where we are today. Well I am going leave things at this point for today, since I have have tasks waiting for to be accomplished, but I think I will be back even if for the purpsoe of reflection in two more years.....

Hi There! Long Time- No Blog
Wow! It has been a long time- sorry, but I had freedom from my computer this summer. It was amazing! I think some of you out there should try "breaking free" from this little box that dings at you all day long.
Well we had a great summer-loved the sun and lakes. How relaxing the lake is... I could live in "summer time" forever. We had a lot fun with friends and family- thanks you all!
So school is back- routine- hmm. The boys are both in school full time. I should be cheering right?** But I am not. I kinda miss them. You see I am quickly realizing how fast they grow, how short the day is and how little I get to see them. I ask all kinds of questions about the day and I hear the BIG stories of the day, but it doesn't seem to be enough. By the way it is not fair that now the teacher knows "everything". I like being the hero in their life. I guess I am learning to cherish and make the most of the moments they are home. I am realizing how important supper time is. Doing nothing on a Saturday, but listening to them is pure joy and Sundays going to church and being part of a larger family is life!
Well, thank- you Lord, I still have Emry at home. She finds me a little boring most days, but I will smother her anyhow.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day Girls!
Well I think summer is coming -kinda- sorta... We are in full swing with ball. How is everyone else keeping up- some days I think I run more then the kids- no one told me I would get this much exercise too! I tell you- just making sure everyone is feed early, has gloves, water, clothes on (the right ones- I don't frequently allow them to go naked) the other kids have stuff to keep them warm... yadayada You know the drill, yet we love it. It is wonderful to see our kids grow, meet challenges or sometimes try without success, but walk away with their head held high. And sometimes they work as a team and pat each other on the back and encourage each other to keep trying. This is why we do these crazy things- we love seeing our kids grow and change before our eyes. Every once in a while we must give our selves a pat on the back. You know we are good moms- everyone of us.
By the way Mrs. Cupcake- I loved the cupcake- it was as delicious as it looked, every last morsel...mmmm

Green with...sickness
Yes, almost all of this household has been green this week. Not in the enviornmental sense or envy sense... but sick sense. So it stated a week ago Friday- Louis Anthony came home from school. We figured out quick that his tooth was absessing. Next we scrambled to get him medicine before the weekend. What do you know - there is a dental convention going on and most dentists taking off early. But we did find him some help. By Sunday night I was getting sick and by Monday morning I WAS sick. Tuesday Louis had his tooth pulled in Regina. Wednesday Manny was telling me his thoat hurt "just like when I got my tonsils out mom" Wednesday night we were up all night with Emry whose sore tooth was actually a sore ear. Yes, green is the color of our household! We ended the week with me getting tonsilitis. Okay, I know many of you have heard this sob store, but I am still feeling sorry for myself.
The Girls are Out!
Hey I finally am sitting at my computer and not sharing with Louis. (I don't think he really knows how to share- something about "He needs the computer for work" what's that about?*?)
Look I finally put a pic on Yeah! [clap, clap] Next... a photo...
So I finally lived up to the name "girlforfreedomfromhusbandandkids" A group of us ladies got away to Minot to see Julie Barnhill. It was awsome, fun and the speaker was great too! There was great food, shopping, great deals, laughter, chatting all night, excitment, junk food, and Star Bucks- I repeat Star Bucks! Some of us even went cruising- that gentle old man may never be the same. lol! Most of all it was a time to hang with my girlfriends- right girls! Julie Barnhill was great! She loves God and loves the female race and knows how to laugh. Check out her website.

Two Day GetAway
Well we took a little family trip to Bismark this week. School holidays means a two day getaway. It was great- busy- crazy and sleepless ... you know getaways with 6 kids. Ohh did I mention we went with good friends. Yes, our three and their three. We were greatly out numbered by little people. (I think every restaurant we went to realized this too, since their jaws all dropped, followed by "we need a table for 10. For how many?*? For 10. But we did all manage to eat and each restaurant did take our money.)
It was a great time ... a little shopping, lots of water sliding, a movie and a museum. Here is a good tip- next time you go to Bismark go to the museum at the Capital Building. We really enjoyed and would have pictures if we had brought the camera. I will get the picture thing on here yet!

3:30 am and no sleep in sight
I guess you create a blog at 3:30 in the morning- what do most normal people do? Oh yeah- sleep! Honestly, I have no idea why I am up and this wide awake but here I am. A friend gave me the idea of a blog and today at this time seems to be working for me. You will forgive me if I have not put any pictures in - my husband is not up to show me how to do this. Funny- he seems to be having a great sleep- I can hear him slumbering away.
Well here is the start of something- we will see how this blog thing goes- until next time.....
